Ramping It Up!

So you own an electric guitar and amp or are fixated on getting them into your hands really, really soon? What to do next when there isn’t enough time in your weekly classical lessons to go into the distinctive techniques for each instrument’s approach? Let Saturdays in May be yours for Electric Guitar – Ramping It Up! as Mark Marston presents what you need to know about this riveting combo – regardless of which instrument (any instrument!) you regularly play.

Mark will teach (or review, depending on participant experience) the following techniques: standard and alternative picking, chords, improvisation, the approaches used in blues and pop/rock, slide guitar, new riffs, and the pentatonic minor scales. Breakout rooms will be available for small groups to work together on different techniques. In addition to having fun with the electric guitar and amp, students will learn music theory that they can apply to their main instrument. They will also be exposed to musical styles other than those studied in individual lessons. Mark Marston has decades of experience working with students of all abilities and backgrounds – he is a true guitar enthusiast and soulful musician – and warmly welcomes students who have not yet played the instrument but would like to try! This online course will meet Saturdays, May 1 – May 22 from 11:30 – 12:30 and will cost $100 per student. Read about Mark Marston. Register for the course. Need a guitar with all the fixings?
