Thank you to everyone who came to our Kickoff Party! Wow- 25 years of memories, music, and friendship! What a great celebration we had commemorating this wonderful milestone! The Graeter’s ice cream was fabulous (now you know!) and we had stellar performances from our CYM students and faculty all afternoon!
The stage is set!

Cello Faculty Member, Ryan Ash, and students performed June 8 at Millie’s Ice Cream in Shadyside. Not much can compare to a group of cellists able to create a completely chill vibe. In addition to sounding great, the young cellists were treated to their choice of ice cream.
Millie’s is a locally-produced treat with two locations, one in Shadyside and one in Market Square. You can pick up Millie’s at all Market Square versions of Giant Eagle, at T-bones in Wexford, and at B Gourmet in Sewickley.
This summer we sure had some fun with the folk cousin of the violin: the fiddle! Our young violinists used techniques they already knew to explore the basics of fiddling technique! They learned lots of new tunes together, and experimented with some familiar tunes. They traveled around the world to visit fiddle music from different cultures. Fiddlers played, practiced, and jammed together to make a summer full of folk music and fun!
What a marvelous year we have had! From new experiences to old favorites, from new faces and new families to our proud graduates, our community celebrates the joyful feeling of a completed year of growing, learning, and sharing in the love of music. We happily take a stroll down memory lane- come with us, won’t you?!

Children enjoyed a special “concert” last May in a format specifically designed with our youngest musicians in mind! Students were treated to a series of musical activities alternating with short performances by our faculty representing each instrument offered for study at CYM.
